The options for in-vehicle connectivity have expanded greatly over the past year, with OEMs continuing to find innovative methods for balancing the connectivity provided to vehicles by Embedded Telematics and Personal Mobile Devices connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth. These technologies provide great opportunities for improving the driver’s user experience through entertainment content, safety and security, navigation, diagnostics, and many more. With these vast layers of opportunity, there are endless methods for efficiently leveraging the available technologies.

How will these technologies influence vehicle connectivity by 2018? Will they be integrated technologies that complement each other, or will they be competing technologies that all OEMs find greatly different paths to follow? How will government regulations, usage cost, driver distraction, and safety influence these implementations?
