What do the EPA’s 54 mpg fuel efficiency requirements for 2025, infotainment, active safety and vehicle-to-vehicle communication have in common? Each application area contains highly interactive and modular embedded electronic and mechanical components requiring a multidisciplinary, systems engineering approach for new product development. Model-Based System Engineering, or MBSE, takes the popular Model-Based Design (MBD) philosophy into a holistic, strategically planned product design and validation direction. By readily interfacing today’s most popular graphical modeling environments to real world system-level scenarios and incorporating a system validation strategy, MBSE seeks to enable modular component design success within the context of system level operation and constraints.

The Model-Based Systems Engineering Tech-Fast will include a discussion on System Level Design and Validation Trends by a panel of leading executives from automotive and aerospace companies responsible for system level vehicle development.
