Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Sterling Heights Assembly Plant Tour

The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) is opening its doors for SAE members and their guests to tour the facility. Slated to close at the end of 2010, SHAP has been revived with investments of nearly $1 billion and an all-new product. It is now one of the most versatile, flexible, and state-of-the-art production facilities in the company with a new paint shop and five million square-foot manufacturing space to produce the 2015 Chrysler 200.

Representatives from SHAP will begin the tour with a general overview of the facility, followed by a tour of the 28,000 square foot Metrology Center with cutting edge inspection equipment, a Paint Shop with 24 robots, and a new one million square foot body shop.

The tour is limited to SAE members and their guests. Note: Open toe and open heel shoes, cameras, and other imaging devices are not permitted. Please review the safety requirements for more details.
