Younger Members







One of the SAE Detroit Section's main goals is to encourage younger members (age 36 and younger) to participate in Section activities. The Younger Member committee consists of a group of young professionals that meet once a month to plan the annual YAPC and to create new younger member activities and programs. The committee's main objective is to get younger members more involved in networking and to familiarize them with the many benefits SAE has to offer. 


2010 Programs

 SAE Detroit Section Networking Night
Come meet your peers, industry leaders, and young entrepreneurs.
SAE members and guests will meet every third Thursday of the month (with the exception of December) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. to discuss current social and business topics with fellow executive-minded professionals. The event location will vary month to month throughout the Metro-Detroit area. There is no cost for admission, but everyone is responsible for their own tab. Don't forget to bring extra business cards!

Young Automotive Professional's Conference
 General Motors Company Proving Grounds - Milford, MI

The SAE Detroit Section along with this year's host, General Motors Company, invites you to attend the 7th Annual Young Automotive Professional's Conference on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the General Motors Company Milford Proving Grounds. The event will include a panel discussion with prominent industry executives. The afternoon highlight will be a Ride & Drive event, featuring General Motors' most exciting vehicles on various courses.

8:30 a.m. - Registration / Continental Breakfast

10:00 a.m. - Panel Discussion
11:00 a.m. - Panel Q & A
12:00 p.m. - Networking Lunch
12:30 - 5:00 p.m. - Ride & Drive

The conference is open to all ages (Ride & Drive requires a driver's license and at least 18 years of age) and is a great opportunity to network with young professionals in the automotive industry. Registration is limited to 250 participants. The cost is $40 for SAE members, $60 for non-members, and $20 for SAE student members. Cost includes breakfast and lunch.
